BEER REVIEW: Boont Amber Ale (For Larry and Paul Show)
Dude Theres brings back MEMORIES😭 i I wish they do a longer part 2 now that doctor who is back it would be FANTASTIC 😂
An excellent video with quality information and amazing explanation. without a doubt everything is very explicit. Thanks brand
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned/subscribe for more, working on another video right now.
I recently got a 94 c4 and all the information I found is very useful to know more about these cars since in the past I had an 81 and it is not the same. Thank you for making this video and for being clear and specific in every detail. It's definitely a big help.
Glad this helped, thank you! Enjoy your 1994.
That top folds down faster than that DelSol runs the 1/4 💀 That is tight for reals though 💯
Great review and I love my 2005. I will say the water pump access is interesting because the bolts are so long you have to take off the intake manifold but those kinds of things have become common on new cars. You can buy hard top top stand for $100 and the wrench for the top is $5 and I found a matching red top for $700 in 2021. The Borla exhaust and, K&N intake and SCT tuner provide a better sound but I have never pout mine on the dyno so it’s more seat of pants but some people have shown proof of close to or at 300 HP when properly tuned. Radio upgrades to touchscreen are super easy and you can order a plug and play setup from Crutchfield without breaking the bank and the stereo is nice. I had a chrome trunk rack that I probably should have kept as I have seen a couple with some nice waterproof luggage options for extended travel, otherwise the are great for a weekend getaway.
Great notes on worthwhile upgrades!
2024
About 1.5 years ago, I picked up an 84 C4 that had been ran through the wringer by previous owners (im the 3rd "known" owner, who knows how many actually), but despite being beat and worn, it still runs great and it quickly grew on me. Its most likely never going to be sold again, so im in the process of fixing/upgrading it. The see through targa is nice, since im tall as hell, and can just look through it to see traffic lights when I pull up to close.
That's great to hear...1984's deserve love too!
I never had any problems hopping the birdcage when I owned my 1992 LT1 coupe. 🤔
could you daily drive one of these
Great question. I dailied my 1996, it can be done if you want it bad enough! IMO the only years that I would daily a C4 would be 1994, 1995, and 1996. I go why into more detail in my C4 Buyer's Guide here, check it out- ua-cam.com/video/N0BW_TFzKng/v-deo.html
I have a 94 C4 Corvette I’m having a little problem with it I got it out this weekend started right up ran great probably had it out for about 50 minutes went to the store shut it off went into the store did my shopping probably 20 minutes came back out trying to start it it wouldn’t start and act like it was flooded Waited about an hour and a half To start it it started right up this already happened twice to me cannot figure it out
Not sure what that could be. Nonstart issues could be a hundred different things. If it was wet out the Optispark could've possibly gotten damp, but like I said, many things that could be happening that could be difficult to chase, especially if its only doing this intermittently. I'm not a mechanic, so if it were me, I'd keep an eye on it and take note about what conditions are specifically making it fritz out, and then take it to a trusted mechanic to troubleshoot.
@@RetroCarsForever I have a new optical spark Put in new plugs new wires new water pump new oil pump timing chain in time in gears
@@user-du1lz2ji8e Just my two cents, it might be time to find a trusted Corvette specialist and have them do a thorough diagnosis so you don't continue to throw parts at the issue. That's what I would do, anyways. Best of luck!
Just buy a C4 Corvette and modify it to your liking! it will be faster and cheaper to build than any factory stock C4
Just coat the hardtop seal with some Krytox and that will make all the difference...
Never heard of that, will look into it. Thanks!
how have i got better numbers on my 1995 c4 base modle with the lt1 engine i got a 0-60 in 5.6 seconds lol
As explained in the video, this was done at a pretty high altitude on a dusty surface. I guarantee it would've been slower than either of these cars if it was there on the same day (higher altitude especially limits oxygen and power).
@@RetroCarsForever o okay your right it was a good video overall keep up the good work I look forward to seeing more of your content 👍
@@jasontm7750 Thanks! Working on a new Corvette video right now.
Ok so a bike is safer than a viper💩this car is not about saving your life it’s about enjoying life. My 95 viper is a sweetheart with a touch of badass and that’s why I love her!
1987 Buick Regal T type 4.9sec 0-60mph
In a straight short line, the Buick Grand National was the fastest car GM made! (Was slower than the Vette by every other performance metric though)
You don't own a dragy in this day and age? Also setting dragy to custom to do a 3rd gear pull each would be the best.
Incredible content! Is $17,000 too much for a purple automatic 1994 with 36,000 miles in today's market?
Check the values guide near end of this video and find out! Values haven't really changed since this video was made.
If you want something special go for a 94-95 or 96-98 SVT cobra….. no one cares about these cars. The pushrod 94-95 is a certified future classic and the 96-98 is a cheap way to get into a dohc 32v v8. So is a Lincoln Mk8. And they are “safer and cheaper to insure” but with a few bolt ons and a tune it’s a cobra killer
I've cross-shopped Cobras for the last three or four cars that I've bought! They're great values, and the DOHC ones have plenty of speed. Might've bought one by now, but couldn't find the right example for me, and found the Corvettes to be more comfortable (if pricier to buy and harder to fix).
Always wanted a grand sport coupe. If I ever got a c4 I would have to hunt one down…. Big into special edition vehicles. I have a sts v a Mach 1 a SVT raptor and a 79 Foxbody “cobra” I call it the fobra lol
Nice corral of cars you have there! Glad to see I'm not the only one who loves "special edition" cars (I had a 2001 Bullitt once for that reason).
You missed a dash update I believe happened in 1993.
The dash and door panels were updated a tad in 1994. But the big change happened in 1990, which I covered.
I had a 1994 I bought new then, and the changes from 93 to 94 were more than just a tad of a change.
@@joeindy942 The basic shape (and skeleton) is the same. Beyond the passenger side (which I mentioned in the video) the biggest difference is a bit less "rim" so the passenger can see/operate the controls. Mirrock Corvette is a great resource that goes over yearly changes, they go over it more here...mirrockcorvette.com/c4-parts-guide/dash-panel/ "The 1994-1996 dash panels are very similar to 1990-1993 designs with only minor changes." Obviously this is all subjective on whats a minor or major change, but to keep the video at a reasonable length, I only focused on what I considered to be big enough changes that might be a deal or no deal to anyone considering what year of a C4 they might want to buy.
I have a 1993 Corvette that had the LT1 with a 700r4 transmission. In 2016 I removed the LT1 and auto and replaced. It now has an all aluminum big block displacing 509 cid with 4L80E . Such a great swap. More enjoyable
Wow, that's gotta be a beast! Do you know how much power it has now?
@@RetroCarsForever Yes, it Dyno to 813 HP and 844 TQ Engine Dyno, not chassis
11:02 Do you know it exists app for the run to 60mph, with GPS reading.
Yep, didn't have the time to get one before this shoot, but next time would get a Dragy!
@@RetroCarsForeverI think it is free phone app… not 100% sure though.
@@FrancoisTCS There are a few free or cheap phone apps, but they are woefully inaccurate, as they're using GPS data to "guess" as to where the car is.
I bought a C5 Z06 last summer. One of the best decisions I've ever made!!!!! I've never driven a C6, but I'd imagine that it's just as satisfying--or more--as my C5.
Awesome! Performance stats say that the C5 Z06 is about as quick as a base C6 like mine. I've driven plenty of C5's but never driven a C5 Z06, but I bet it feels much more raw, like a race car. The most desirable C5 in any case, enjoy!
@@RetroCarsForever Yes, it's a blast!!!!! I've taken it to a racetrack and one NASCAR track. Want to take it to more this year. This July will mark the 1-year anniversary of ownership.
@@ericervin4778 Thats awesome! Which NASCAR track?
@@RetroCarsForever Dover International Speedway in Delaware. They have a yearly charity run where they let the public take their personal cars on the track. You can buy 5-lap or 10-lap packages. The other place I've taken it to is Dominion Raceway in Virginia. Going to take it to Summitt Point Motorsports Park next month and Watkins Glenn in July.
There is also a common issue where water can get into the gas tank because the fill cap does not have a seal
I haven't heard of this issue. When you say the fill cap does not have a seal, what do you mean exactly?
Picked up my 2011 C6 Grand Sport 3LT about 18 months ago. Had 19,000 miles when I picked it up. So far I really love it.
well done...
Thank you!
Does someone know where I can find 1996 models
Best place to find these cars for sale... Craigslist Ebay Motors Facebook Marketplace Facebook C4 Groups SearchTempest (Searches a bunch of different sites all at once) Good luck!
Don't forget the tiny light bulb near the spare tire compartment under the car. It also serves as a courtesy light when the hatch or doors are open and looks cool as feck at night. You can upgrade it to LED for increased illumination. 😎
Such a weird little quirk! Don't know of too many other cars that have that.
I found a 88 bright red coupe in a barn. Runs and drives automatic but he wants 3k for it and i dunno the milage. Think its worth a gamble?
Probably not. According to my pricing guide near end of this video, if the car is all fixed up and perfect, it would be worth around 9 grand or so. I bet you will EASILY spend 6 grand getting that car back to shape. Rodents love to create nests, and getting the electrics figured out on older C4s like this can be a real headache. If you want a project car that you would enjoy working on, maybe. Or if there really isn't anything wrong with it. A much safer gamble is to just spend 9 grand up front on a 1988 that hasn't been ignored.
I love my 92
Sn95 mustangs are very well built cars, they feel soild handle decent, they now getting older now and all have a few minor issues ubut pretty much well built dead reliable fun cars and cheap to fix and quite affordable to modify.
I’ve owned a few SN95s, and I actually recommend them over the Corvette as a good first fun car in this video here… ua-cam.com/video/dyF5eHPf5sw/v-deo.htmlsi=YbYTqemD8pUC79qF
A FRC c4 would have been sick, it would have had lines of a vert but just a hardtop.
I can tell you that the ass-end of that C8 will get twitchy too, but it's somewhat easier to ride out by just giving it some throttle. As long as you're not giving it more that 35% you should be alright.
I didn't get to TRULY explore the limits on my track run (and stability/traction control was kept on). But as someone used to front engined cars, it would take me some practice to not lift off the throttle in a mid engined car when trouble arose!
Chevy beretta gtz vs gt
If I could find them, I would love that 😆
@@RetroCarsForever awesome content keep up the good work for those living our car dreams through guys like you.
@@krapleoj Thank you! Filming a new video this weekend actually.
Beautiful car! Enjoyed the video.
Thank you!
Dianna Rigg as Tracey was as hot as Eva Green as Vesper.
I had an 89, 95, 95 ZR-1 and a 96 Grand Sport. I liked the Grand Sport the best.
I'm surprised, I always figured the 95 ZR-1 to be the absolute best of the C4 breed! Why did you prefer the Grand Sport?
What everyone forgets to mention., it was the 2002 Motor Trend car of the year
Yes! I should've mentioned that in this review (I have the magazine)
GMs Aussie division Holden used the ASR type traction control in the early LS1 equipped. They called it a "throttle relaxer". I first felt it's wrath in the 2001 Holden Caprice, where I sank in my steel capped work boot onto the pedal, whilst going around a corner. Where I got into trouble, was that my boot somehow became wedged between the throttle pedal and the under dash trim, meaning I couldn't lift off the pedal. Scary thing for an 18 year old just starting his mechanical apprenticeship.
Woah! That would be a wild ride.
Love the c6! Sad to see the LT4 go but you made a great choice! Thanks for a great channel.
Thank you so much!
A friend of mine here I Norway has a 1995 Lingfelter Corvette, is that a special edition?Or is it something you had to order yourself After you purchased a car?
Lingenfelter was and still is a popular company that modifies Corvettes AFTER they come from the factory. So not a "Special Edition" that you could order from the factory, but an extremely special and fast car, especially in Norway!
Regarding longevity, I purchased my 1995 new and accumulated 261,000 miles by 2014. The automatic went out twice, 1st at 152,000 miles and then again at the current 261K. The only things done to the LT1 is intake gasket (twice), water pump, and starter (twice). Untouched opti. I've been pleased with reliability, and I even autocrossed and drag raced it some in the early years. It's been down the last 10 years, but finally about road worthy again as a Sunday driver😊.
C2 and C3 are mid engine as well, the small block sits back further from the front axle than the C4.
Even if I wasn't currently looking to buy a 1985 C4 Corvette, I could still listen to your videos and be entertained!
Thank you! That's quite a compliment. Good luck with your search, make sure to check out my C4 Buyer's Guide too!
1995.... Opti v.2 , programmable ECM eeprom via OBD1.5 , only pre-cat O2 making cat delete and wide band monitoring easy
Maybe because u have the 375 bhp ZR1 and not a 93 thru 95 with 405 bhp ?
Those later ZR-1s are in a completely different price bracket compared to an LT4.
I've got the 2 chamber flow master on my 85 and those drone me to death I liked them at first but the more I drive the car I like less and less.
I hear ya. Drone drive me bonkers!
@@RetroCarsForever and also the fact I can't hear my stereo half the time with out cranking it full blast most of the time greatly annoys me 😆.
The hate for The World Is Not Enough is too unbearable for me!
A few of us dig it! (I was one of them) But not enough to offset the other really low scores.
Sending this to my girl
My dad passed recently and I'm trying to figure out how to go about selling his 2004 T-Bird. His is black with a hardtop with only 9,500 miles on it. Hard to find a buyer for such a niche car though. I was thinking of asking 20K. What do you think about values of like new ultra low mile examples?
I’m sorry for your loss. That’s a super low mileage example, in theory it would be worth a grand or two more than the top end of my pricing guide here. However, if it has sat dormant and not driven for a few years, then that actually decreases the value a bit as it will need an expensive refreshing to get back to driving duty. 20k sound perfectly reasonable off hand, but use the price guide or this video to really zero in what it’s worth. The best place to sell would be on Thunderbird Facebook groups there are several. Also Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. Best of luck to you.
